Egg freezingAn option to preserve your fertility and discuss your future plans.Learn about this service
Egg freezing, or vitrification, is an assisted reproduction technique that allows women to preserve their reproductive capacity when they wish to postpone motherhood for medical or social reasons. Women are born with between 1 and 2 million eggs, but this number decreases over time, with the most fertile years between ages 20 and 35. From age 35, ovarian reserve declines noticeably in quantity and quality, so freezing eggs before this age is recommended. At our fertility clinic, we help you with this process.

Egg bank
Various circumstances can prevent a couple from achieving fertility and a successful pregnancy. One is a woman's inability to produce good-quality eggs that can be fertilized and form healthy embryos. The most common cause in these cases is the woman's age. One alternative for achieving pregnancy in these patients is egg donation. Egg donation is a technique that allows a female donor to give her eggs to a female recipient so that the latter can become pregnant. These eggs are fertilized in the laboratory with her partner's sperm, and once this occurs, the embryos are placed in the recipient's uterus.
At CREASIS San Pedro, we have an extensive egg bank from donors who undergo strict quality screening. This means they are tested to rule out genetic or infectious conditions that could compromise the embryo's health. Donors also undergo a psychological assessment beforehand. It is important to mention that egg donation is completely ANONYMOUS: the identity of neither the donor nor the recipient is ever revealed. We also always seek to match the donor's physical characteristics as closely as possible to those of the recipient.
Sperm bank
Sperm cells are the male gametes produced by men and contain the genetic information that will be passed to the embryo once the egg has been fertilized. As in women, there are circumstances that prevent men from producing good-quality sperm capable of fertilizing an egg. In these cases, sperm donation is indicated.
Our fertility clinic has a sperm bank with frozen semen doses for use in insemination or in vitro fertilization. Donors are selected for each couple according to the man's blood group, Rh factor and physical characteristics.
Donors must be between 18 and 50 years old and in good physical and psychological health. Their physical and psychological condition must meet the requirements of a mandatory donor screening protocol, including their phenotypic and psychological characteristics, as well as the clinical assessments and laboratory tests needed to demonstrate that they do not have genetic, hereditary or infectious diseases transmissible to offspring. As with the egg bank, sperm donation is strictly ANONYMOUS.
Talk to a specialistHysteroscopyA specialist examination to assess the uterine cavity.Learn about this service
At our fertility clinic, we offer a specialist diagnostic hysteroscopy service, an advanced technique for examining the endometrium and detecting possible abnormalities that could affect fertility. The procedure uses advanced equipment that provides a clear, detailed view of the uterus and is essential for patients experiencing difficulty conceiving. Diagnostic hysteroscopy is minimally invasive and performed as an outpatient procedure under light sedation, providing comfort and reducing patient anxiety. This technology allows us to identify and promptly treat conditions such as polyps and fibroids that may hinder reproduction.

Evaluation of the infertile couple includes assessing the integrity of the uterine cavity. Various conditions, mostly benign, can limit embryo implantation. Examples include polyps, fibroids, septa, adhesions and infections that sometimes go undetected in routine diagnostic tests such as transvaginal ultrasound and hysterosalpingography.
Our fertility clinic has an operating room and advanced hysteroscopy equipment that allow us to evaluate and treat most of these conditions. This is an outpatient procedure performed under sedation; it is minimally invasive and relatively straightforward. According to the literature, one in five patients with normal ultrasound and hysterosalpingography findings has uterine pathology detected during hysteroscopy. It is therefore essential that every patient undergoing In Vitro Fertilization has previously undergone diagnostic hysteroscopy.

The Embryology Laboratory has the following facilities: it is equipped with the latest technology in both culture media and laboratory equipment, including incubators, laminar flow cabinets and air filtration methods. We are the first fertility clinic to use ESCO incubators, which ensure optimal results in embryo culture using sequential media.

Our fertility clinic offers embryo storage using the latest freezing technology, called vitrification. This technique began in the United States and Europe in late 2003 and offers a higher embryo survival rate during thawing. If embryos are considered of good quality for cryopreservation, the survival rate during thawing exceeds 90%. All embryos cryopreserved from 2008 to the present have been preserved using this technique.
